GIST Summit Hotel & Transportation Information

GIST Support International is delighted you are considering attending our 10th Annual GIST Summit.  It looks like it will be a really exciting day, as there will be a great program that is drawing interest from GIST patients and caregivers from all over the country (and beyond)!

If you arrive in Houston by early Friday evening, September 13, you may want to join us for dinner at a local restaurant.  The GSI board will be setting up the facilities on the 8th Floor of the Cancer Prevention Building late Friday afternoon, and we will go to dinner afterwards.  More details on this to follow on the dinner location.

As noted, the Summit will be held on the 8th Floor of the Cancer Prevention Building, 1155 Pressler Street.  From the entrance to the building, take Elevator Q to the 8th Floor.  The route will be marked with signage.

If you have questions or need additional information, please feel free to contact me via email (gingers@labi.org) or on my cell phone (225-281-5389).

I look forwarding to seeing you!

Ginger Sawyer

TRANSPORTATION FROM AIRPORTS TO MDA

Neither MD Anderson nor the hotels have airport shuttle service; however, there are various options (apart from the obvious taxis – $42 from Bush, $32 from Hobby).  Often car rental is cheaper than taxi and other services.

SuperShuttle Shared-Ride Service provides ground transportation services at George Bush Intercontinental and William P. Hobby airports.  SuperShuttle takes reservations and picks-up travelers at their homes or businesses and transports them to the airports and vice versa. For reservations or for more information call 713.523.8888 or visit www.supershuttle.com.
